This policy explains what personal information Mokids ltd (trading as MoKids Shop) collects when you use this website or buy from us, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

We are the data controller for the information described below.

What we collect

When you place an order

• Your name, delivery address and billing address
• Your phone number and email address
• What you ordered, the amount paid and your chosen payment method
• Any delivery instructions or notes you give us

We need this information to accept your order, deliver it, take payment, issue a VAT invoice and deal with any problem afterwards. Without it we cannot sell to you.

When you create an account

Your name, email address and password (stored encrypted — we never see it), plus your saved addresses and order history.

When you contact us

Whatever you choose to tell us by phone, WhatsApp, email or the contact form, so we can answer you.

Automatically, when you browse

Standard technical information: your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the time of your visit. This is used to keep the site running, secure and reasonably fast.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use them to:

• keep the items in your basket while you shop
• keep you signed in to your account
• remember your cookie preferences

The basket and sign-in cookies are essential — the shop cannot work without them. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site will stop working.

How we take payment

We accept Cash on Delivery, Bank Transfer and MCB Juice. We do not collect or store card numbers on this website. For bank transfers, your payment reference is handled by your own bank; we only see that the payment arrived.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics tools on this website. We share your details only where we have to:

• with the person delivering your order, so they can find you and contact you on the day
• with our accountant, and with the Mauritius Revenue Authority, as required for VAT and tax records
• where the law requires it

How long we keep it

• Order and invoice records: 5 years, as required for VAT and tax purposes.
• Account information: until you ask us to close your account.
• Enquiries: only as long as needed to deal with them.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act 2017 of Mauritius you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you
• correct anything that is wrong
• delete information we no longer need to keep
• stop using your information for marketing

Keeping your information safe

This site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Access to customer data is limited to the people who need it to run the shop. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care.

Children

We sell products for children, but the shop is intended for adults to use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page.

Placing an order

Adding items to your basket and completing checkout is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we confirm your order. If an item turns out to be unavailable after you order, we will contact you to agree how to resolve it.

Prices and payment

All prices are shown in Mauritian Rupees (Rs) and include VAT where applicable. Mokids ltd is VAT-registered under VAT No 28098263.

We accept:

• Cash on Delivery
• Bank Transfer — MCB, Mokids ltd, account 000451763831
• MCB Juice

How VAT is applied

The price shown on each product page is the cash price, and it includes VAT.

• Cash on Delivery — you pay the price shown. VAT is already included in it.
• Bank Transfer and MCB Juice — 15% VAT is added on top of the price shown.

Your order total is shown clearly at checkout before you confirm, and it updates as soon as you change payment method, so you always see exactly what you will pay.

We issue a VAT invoice with every order.

Delivery

We deliver islandwide from Rs 200, normally within 3 days. Delivery times are an estimate, not a guarantee. You may also collect from our showroom in Port Louis during opening hours.

Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery or collection.

Assembly

We offer assembly for items that require it. Please ask when ordering so we can arrange it.

Returns and refunds

Goods once sold cannot be returned, and we do not give cash refunds. Faulty items may be exchanged within 5 days of delivery on production of the original receipt. Please check all goods on delivery. Full details are on our Refunds & Returns page, which forms part of these terms.

Product information

We describe our products as accurately as we can. Photographs are for illustration; colours may vary slightly between screens, and packaging may change. Where a product is intended for a particular age range, please follow the manufacturer’s guidance — many toys are unsuitable for children under three because of small parts.

Product safety

Please read and keep any age guidance, warnings and instructions supplied with a product.

• Many toys are not suitable for children under 3 years because they contain small parts that could cause choking. Where an age range is given, follow it.
• Toys and equipment are intended to be used under adult supervision unless the manufacturer states otherwise.
• Keep packaging, plastic bags and ties away from young children.

Furniture and assembly

Where we assemble an item for you, we assemble it according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Tall or free-standing furniture must be secured to a wall where the manufacturer requires it, to prevent tipping. If you assemble an item yourself, you are responsible for following the instructions and for fixing it safely. Please check fixings periodically, especially in a classroom or nursery where furniture is used heavily.

Schools, daycares and other institutional buyers

We supply schools, daycares and businesses as well as families. If you are buying on behalf of an institution and need a purchase order, quotation, or a VAT invoice in the institution’s name, contact us on +230 5257 5774 before ordering so we can set it up correctly.

Your account

If you create an account, keep your password confidential and tell us if you think someone else has used it. You are responsible for orders placed through your account.

Using this website

You may not use this site to do anything unlawful, attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, or copy its content for commercial use without our permission. The site content, including product photographs and text, belongs to Mokids ltd or is used with permission.

Our liability

We are responsible for supplying goods that match their description and are of satisfactory quality. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable at the time you ordered. Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

If something goes wrong

Please contact us first on +230 5257 5774 — most problems are resolved quickly by phone. Nothing in these terms affects your rights under Mauritian consumer protection law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Mauritius, and the courts of Mauritius have jurisdiction.

Changes

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.

Please check your goods on delivery

All goods must be checked at the time of delivery or collection. Please open and inspect your items while the delivery is still with you, and tell us straight away if anything is damaged or missing.

Change of mind

Goods once sold cannot be returned. Please choose carefully, and ask us anything you need to know before you order. This is also stated on your receipt.

If you are unsure about size, colour or suitability, call or WhatsApp us on +230 5257 5774, or visit our showroom in Port Louis to see the item in person before buying.

Faulty items

If a product is faulty, we will exchange it, subject to the following:

• the fault must be reported within 5 days of the delivery date;
• you must produce the original receipt;
• we will exchange the item for the same product, or for another product of the same value.

We do not give cash refunds.
